How it works

moneropad is a launchpad on Solana. Coins trade against wrapped XMR. Part of every fee goes to people running Monero nodes.

Monero

thankful_for_today is a Bitcointalk username. In April 2014 he forks Bytecoin, the first CryptoNote coin, into BitMonero. No premine. He pushes changes the thread does not want, then goes quiet. The community takes the repository, drops the “bit”, and names it Monero. Coin, in Esperanto. Same genesis. He stays anonymous.

Where the XMR comes from

The Solana quote is wrapped XMR from wxmr.io, WXMR...teJp. Bridge at wxmr.io. Native Monero stays in monerod. The wrap sits on Solana in the open, and the mint authority is still on.

A launch

1,000,000,000 tokens. Mint and freeze authority revoked. The whole supply goes in a locked pool against wrapped XMR. You keep no bag. Opening is either instant or a 10 minute batch at one price. Fee is 1–4%, set once.

Default 2% split: 40% holders, 20% you, 20% $moneropad burn, 20% node pool. 0.002 XMR of the open goes to the node pool.

Running a node

monerod still runs against Monero. You register with a Solana wallet. moneropad-relay reads the Monero tip every 5 minutes, signs with that wallet, posts here. Weekly: your points / everyone’s points × the node pool, paid in wrapped XMR.

A full monerod earns more than a remote node. Signing up on the site with nothing running pays nothing.

Risks

  • If nobody trades, holders get nothing and nodes get nothing.
  • The wrapped XMR bridge can pause, and more wrapped XMR can be minted.
  • Launches and fees are recorded on this desk. The on-chain pool and moneropad-relay come next.
